This week in Rathdrum was pretty uneventful.
On Friday we play volleyball with the youth. This Friday when we did it, we had a lot of fun. It's very different being in a ward where there are a lot of youth around. it's not at all like m first two areas.
My companion and I were supposed to give talks this Sunday but I woke up on Saturday feeling really sick and it got worse throughout the day, I pretty much just slept all of Saturday. On Saturday night we called the bishop come and help Elder Craig give me a blessing. Bishop brought me some medicine and stuff to drink. As he was leaving he asked if I was going to be able to speak at church. I told him that I would if I was feeling better in the morning. He said, "Now remember Elder, sister____ gave a talk with a bleeding ulcer, I didn't know she had it at the time but she still gave a talk" I told him that if I didn't feel like I was going to pass out while I talked that I would be willing to speak.
The next morning I was still just as sick. It was one of those things where I was sick enough that I couldn't stand or walk around without feeling like I was gonna pass out. So we texted the bishop and told him that I wasn't going to be speaking but that we would still show up so that my companion could talk.
I sat in the back of the chapel while my companion sat on the stand. I was having a hard time focusing and staying awake. While the bishop was announcing the program he said, "I'm really excite for the speakers that we have today, I'm especially excited because after our youth speaker, brother_____ we'll get a chance to hear from our new missionary, Elder Rebalkin. Followed by his companion, Elder C." He sat down and the youth speaker got up and spoke. I just looked up at my companion and we just shook our heads. When the youth speaker was done, Elder C. got up and said, "Elder Rebalkin is sick and so he will not be speaking today, So I may as well introduce what I know about him and then I'll introduce myself.."
As part of my companion's introduction of me, he said, "... and I also like Elder Rebalkin because he makes me be obedient, which is something I need" The whole ward laughed, I thought I was pretty funny.
Anyways, I feel a lot better now. And I'm going to be speaking next Sunday, they made sure of that.
Other than that, no much has really happened this past week. WE met with a couple less-active members and had a lot of good visits with other members of the ward.
Maybe something cool will happen this week.
