This last week went pretty good. We had interviews with President Mullen and his wife. President Mullen said that I would make a good trainer, so I guess that means I'm doing good? haha we had a chance to meet with investigator this week. She was there and her husband was not, which is a shame because we actually would like to meet with both of them at the same time. Oh well, it turned out great. we had a lesson on Baptism and put her on date for September 20, Its kind of Ironic because now she is on date and her husband isn't and she hasn't come to church yet but her husband has been coming for three weeks now... and he's not on date yet. We'll hope to take care of that tomorrow. We'll actually have to move the date so we have more time to teach them everything.
Speaking of her husband coming to church, he still loves it. haha In Gospel Principles we had the best lesson on the Word of Wisdom I've ever heard. The teacher started out by having us read different stories from the Old Testament where people chose to follow a law of health and the blessings they received from it. Which was good because it showed that God has always established things that we can and cannot each. Which makes me laugh when people complain about how strict the Word of Wisdom is. Just be glad we don't have to live the law of Moses anymore :P Anyways... The lesson was really good and the teacher did a great job explaining it and making it really understandable. After church when we were talking to our investigator, we asked him what stuck out to him at church. He said, "When, we were in the gym talking about the words of wisdom, it was cool, and made sense. I think I'm gonna want to do that" We agreed that it was something he should do and he said, "Yeah, and besides if I want to be baptized I should definitely start living those standards" Which is cool that he said that because we explained to his wife when we put her on date that we're going to teach her certain principles and then commit her to live by those principles and that she'll have to be living them before she is baptized.
They are both really promising. However, in ward council they were brought up and our bishop asked which one of them was a student and we said that neither of them were. A member of the stake high council immediately said, "Oh, well then they're going to have to start going to a different ward, they're not students" We tried insisting that this ward would would be better for them than a family ward due to the fact that they are the same age as everyone else and that they have been married just as long as most of the ward. Also how the ward has been really welcoming and supportive. He says he'll talk to the stake president about it. I'm hoping that the stake president will want them to keep coming to this ward.
That's pretty much all that happened this week.
